Please note: All of our courses, events and workshops are being offered online at the present time. As they fill up quickly, it is recommended to register early to avoid disappointment.
10-Week Basic Training Course
Each spring and fall we offer a 10-week Basic Course in Pastoral Care. This year, because the current situation with the pandemic requires us to deliver our courses and events online, we are presenting our Basic Courses over 9 weeks.
Our Fall 2021 Basic Course begins on Monday, September 20, 2021 and runs weekly until November 22, 2021 (excluding Thanksgiving Monday) from 1pm to 3pm OR 7pm to 9pm. For more information about the course and how to register, please see the brochure.
Every second year, we bring in community professionals to present on topics of interest and relevance to pastoral care volunteers. The next 4-week Advanced Course is scheduled to take place on the first 4 Tuesdays of October 2021. At the present time, we are planning for it to be delivered online.
October 5 – Pastoral Care and Grace: The Power of Being Seen, Heard and Valued, Lisa Boulay
October 12 – Volunteering in the Health Care Setting, Rev. Fritz Clarke
October 19 – A Good Death: Healing Conversations at End of Life, Dr. Elspeth MacEwan
October 26 – Living Well and Staying Connected Spiritually in The Last Journeys of Life, Rev. Hilary Murray
For more details and registration information about the 2021 Advanced Course, please see the brochure.
Continuing Education Event
Twice a year, spring and fall, we bring in special speakers for Continuing Education Events. Registration is now open for the Fall 2021 Continuing Education Event.

Every second year, we hold an event for Coordinators of Spiritual/Pastoral Care Teams/Departments (or their delegates). There is a facilitated discussion on a topic of relevance to team coordinators along with opportunities for networking and sharing ideas. These events are designed to assist in the effective operation of a Pastoral/Spiritual Care Team of Churches, Long Term Care Facilities or Retirement Homes/Residences.
Our next Coordinators’ Event will take place in 2023.
